After an extensive renovation, the national pool complex is now reopened.
"The complex is the main venue for competitive aquatic sports in Malta," says Dermot Galea, the manager. "A number of specialised courses are also held such as life saving courses."
Pool is heated during the winter months to maintain temperature at 26.5 to 27 degree Celsius and the latest equipment monitors the quality of water to WHO specifications.
Work included the decks, exterior and interior areas, as well as, the pool.
Located in Gzira, the complex is the home of swimming, waterpolo, triathlon, syncho swimming and canoe polo in Malta, "It offers a full sized Olympic pool (50 metres) and a diving pool (25 metres) and abides by International Olympic Swimming Standards."
